The Talker: Are bald men more manly?

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Wharton School of Business lecturer and bald man, Albert Mannes, recently conducted a study to see how bald guys are perceived in American society, as compared to guys with hair.

Mannes broke men down into three hair categories.

The first are those with full heads of hair like Justin Bieber, Blagojevich, and Bulls star Joakim Noah.

Then, there are those who are mostly bald but work with the hair they've got left. Think: Bruce Willis with his old peach fuzz hairdo, "The Sopranos" actor James Ganfolfini, and Chicago's own Governor Quinn.

The third category is men who go bald, and ride the look full throttle by shaving their entire heads. Michael Jordan made the look popular, Bruce Willis converted to the style, and the actor Taye Diggs wears it well.

The study sampled opinions from both men and women, and the results show that of the three groups, guys with shaved heads were perceived to be the most dominant and masculine, but, overall, men with full heads of hair were viewed as being the most attractive. The partially bald look fared the worst in terms of both dominance and attractiveness.
