CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

An American Airlines flight from Chicago to London was delayed by two unscheduled stops on Monday.

American Flight 98 left Chicago on Monday night but was forced to land in Canada because of a medical emergency, according to American Airlines spokesman Kent Powell.

The flight was later delayed again with a stop at Shannon Airport in Ireland because there was a smell of smoke, according to the spokesman.

The flight remained in Ireland as about 1 p.m. Tuesday, and no one was injured, according to the Powell.
