ComEd customers using CUB Energy Saver paid less this summer

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

This summer's record-breaking heat raised Com Ed customers' bills about 7.2 percent.

But according to a new report from the Citizens Utility Board, consumers who used CUB Energy Saver cut 70 percent of the extra costs caused by the record heat.

In total, Com Ed customers paid about $5 a month extra on average. But those that used the energy saver paid only an additional $1.50 a month.
