Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Days after saying it is worried about the slowing pace of the global economy, Caterpillar said it will shut down parts of its operations in Decatur for part of the fall and winter.

Operations will shut down for a week in November and all of December.

The Peoria-based construction company said the layoffs are temporary.

Late last month caterpillar expressed concerns about the growth of the global economy for the next few years.

The company also lowered its expectations for its profits in 2015.
