EVANSTON, Ill. (FOX 32 News) -

Residents of Evanston gathered Tuesday night to talk about ways to stop violence in the city.

Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl called a community meeting to look for solutions, at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center in Evanston on Foster Street.

The gathering came ten days after a 14-year-old athlete and honor student at Evanston Township High School was shot to death.

Dajae Coleman was murdered last month in what police say was a case of mistaken identity.

He was killed while walking home from a party, only a mile from his home.

A 20-year-old Evanston man is charged with his murder.
