Driver sought in fatal Algonquin hit and run

ALGONQUIN, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are seeking the public's help in locating a vehicle wanted for fatally striking a man in unincorporated Algonquin early Monday.

John D. Fenessey, of Algonquin, was struck in the 600 block of East Main Street about 3:29 a.m. and the vehicle fled the scene, according to a release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

Fennessy, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene by the McHenry Country Coroner's office.

The offending vehicle is missing pieces of an headlight.
