Hiring preference for public school grads in Chicago, Arnold Schwarzenegger: Chat Room

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
On this week's Chat Room, Sun-Times' Editor Susanna Negovan and Consultant Rochelle Trotter talk advantage and Arnold.
First Up, Mayor Emanuel wants to give CPS graduates a huge advantage in the area of employment. His new initiative will offer CPS graduates preference for city jobs. Is this fair?
Rochelle thinks it is fair, as it only applies to 20% of the city jobs. However she cautioned that the way the program is managed is critical, as it could tip into the discrimination area. As long as the CPS grads who are being interviewed for those jobs meet the same qualifications as non CPS grads then it should be ok.
Susanna agreed, and added that a tax paying citizen of Chicago whose children attends private school might have issue with this program if it seems unfairly managed. Why should their children be disadvantaged? Additionally, the tracking of CPS graduates hired under this program must be closely monitored so that it does not just become another "mandated hire" vs. a truly qualified person for the job.
Next up Ah-nold Schwarzenegger is out hawking his new book, "Total Recall," which he says he wrote to improve his badly tarnished public image. He did not give Maria an advanced copy of the book and in his 60 Minutes interview he showed no emotion and never used the word "betrayal." What is he thinking?
Susanna thinks he already has such a bad reputation why continue to make it worse by revealing things in this book. It will do nothing but hurt Maria and their children. Rochelle agreed, stating the book should be called "Total Idiot" because that is exactly what Arnold is in her opinion.
Rochelle also does not think Maria had the "rights" to receive an advanced copy - and thinks it's probably best for her to continue to stay out of the public fray and remain classy in all her affairs. Susanna said Arnold missed the most important point in marriage which is to Keep the Wife Happy!
