SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are looking for a 61-year-old northwest suburban woman and her son, who suffers from Down syndrome, who disappeared from their home since Wednesday.

Family members reported Rosa Rosario, 61, and her son Juan Rosario, 41, missing from their Schaumburg home, according to an alert from Schaumburg police. Both are considered at-risk.

Juan Rosario has Down Syndrome and is cared for by his mother, who also has various medical

conditions for which she takes medications, the alert said.

Rosa Rosario's cell phone and car were both left at their home and there was no note left, family members told police. They are concerned because such behavior is "out of character" and they did not know if she had her medications.

Rosa Rosario is described as a dark-completed Hispanic who only speaks Spanish. She is 5-foot-2 and 175 pounds with brown eyes, and gray/black hair generally worn in a ponytail.

Juan Rosario is a dark-completed male Hispanic who speaks English. He is about 5-foot-8 and 200 pounds with brown eyes and black curly hair worn in a short Afro style.

Anybody with information should call 911 or Schaumburg police at (847) 882-3534.
