CAUGHT IN THE CROSSFIRE: A man shot early Wednesday morning on Chicago's South Side, has now died.
Edgar Ortiz, 20, was standing outside, in the 8200 block of South Houston when someone walked up and shot him at around 2:15 a.m.
He was shot multiple times in the head and body and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Ortiz did not survive his injuries, and was pronounced dead at 3 a.m.
Area South investigators do not have anyone in custody, but continue to investigate.
