Bears' Brandon Marshall snaps back at Warren Sapp

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Bears receiver Brandon Marshall posted two videos on his Twitter page today responding to derogatory comments from former NFL defensive lineman and now NFL analyst Warren Sapp.

Sapp's comments were heard on the nationally syndicated Dan Patrick radio show on Friday. Sapp criticized Marshall for not respecting players that came before him, including former Packer great, Shannon Sharpe.

"These kids that play the game today have no relevance for the past, have no conscience of what it is," Sapp said. "I mean, Brandon Marshall talking about Shannon Sharpe, who is he to talk? He's the first 100 catch receiver back to back, retard."

Sapp's choice of words may be offensive to many people, and it certainly tweaked Marshall. In the first of two videos Brandon Marshall recorded while driving, he calmly calls out Warren Sapp.

"Good morning world. Listen, I got a very disturbing heads-up on something Warren Sapp said, called me retarded," Marshall said in one video. "You know, that's very disappointing to hear that from an NFL legend."

Marshall continued to go after Sapp's bankruptcy and divorce. "Guys like Warren Sapp, you know, uh, I feel sorry for," Marshall said. "So, hopefully one day he'll change his life. We'll pray for him and instead of using words to destroy, he may use words to uplift."

Sapp, who was outspoken as a player, and now serves as an analyst in the NFL Network, did not publicly address the feud on his Twitter page, but according to Marshall, Sapp emailed him saying: "So @WarrenSapp just emailed where and when. I assume he wants to fight."

That tweet followed Marshall's second video, which he also posted on his Twitter account.

"All we can do is, you know, is try to encourage him to be better and but at the same time we're gonna hold you accountable Warren, just like I'm held accountable," Marshall said to the camera. "This is out of truth and love, alright Warren."
