CNN's use of Chris Steven's journal, Kanye's treatment of Kim Kardashian: Chat Room

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
On this week's Chat Room, consultant Rochelle Trotter and the Sun-Times' Susanna Negovan talk about diaries and diets.
First up, the State Department calls CNN's use of information from murdered ambassador Chris Stevens' journal "disgusting." CNN calls it newsworthy.
The journal shows Stevens was fearful of escalating tensions, the growing al-Qaeda presence and that there was a hit on him. So was it fair game to use the journal against the family's wishes?
Susanna said that while it's a tricky one, she's on CNN's side because they didn't print excerpts or quote the journal directly; the used it as background and corroborated his notes to show that the attack might not have been tied to the anti-Islam video as previously reported - and that's important information Americans want to know.
Rochelle strongly disagreed, saying that journals are meant to be private and CNN should not have used it.
Next, the newest strange chapter in the Kimye relationship: Kanye wants Kim to lose 20 pounds, dress more regally like Kate Middleton and carry herself with more class so that she can be the face of his fashion line.
Is this controlling dangerous boyfriend behavior, or Kanye trying to get Kim to be the best she can be?
Rochelle said Kanye should give up on trying to turn Kim into Beyonce - it'll never happen, and he'll never be Jay-Z. Plus, Kanye fell in love with her for her curves, so it's wrong to try to change that.
Susanna said that while she doesn't need to lose weight for her health because she falls within the normal range, she understands why someone would want to lose 10 or 20 pounds if they're in the fashion world - clothes just fit better.
