Runners are being warned about a man on the lakefront who is punching people.
With the Chicago Marathon around the corner, joggers are hitting the pathway.
The Chicago Area Runners Association put out an alert warning runners to be on the lookout and asking them to try to get a picture of the punching rollerblader. There are no police reports about this activity, so it has been hard to track.
On running websites and on Facebook, joggers have exchanged stories about the offender, who appears to be in his 50s or 60s. He's described as 6'3" on rollerblades and has grey hair.
They say he punches women and men and once shouted, "Get off the path."
This is a time when some serious runners are on the lakefront, preparing for the Chicago Marathon. Runners say they're shocked someone would do that.
"You put in the training and you could be injured," said Sarah from Toronto.
"I think I would be able to handle myself. Me and my boys take Tae Kwon Do," said Kathy from Florida.
The Park District has been made aware of incidents involving a high school cross country team and a report it happened during a fundraising race. They say he strikes between Navy Pier and Museum Campus, a popular pathway for joggers.
