Hinsdale parents speak out against showing R-rated films in school

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Some parents in Hinsdale don't like teachers showing their kids R-rated movies.

The parents are speaking out against movies like "Brokeback Mountain" and "American Beauty" being shown to a film class at Hinsdale South High School.

They said the movies are inappropriate for teens.

The school superintendent told the Chicago Tribune the principal has to approve any R-rated movies, and parents have to sign a permission slip for each movie.
