Man critically injured in Southwest Side hit-and-run

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are looking for the motorist who struck and critically injured a pedestrian in the South Lawndale neighborhood Monday afternoon on the Southwest Side.

A black sedan struck the 25-year-old man about 2 p.m. near South Christiana Avenue and West 26th Street, said police News Affairs Officer Joshua Purkiss said.

Paramedics took the man in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, Fire Media Affairs spokeswoman Meg Ahlheim said.

The car was last seen driving south on Kedzie Avenue, police said.
