After three long years, a jury convicted Drew Peterson of murdering his third wife, Kathleen Savio, at 2:45 p.m. Thursday. Peterson, 58, could face 60 years in jail.

Kathleen Savio's step-mother got hugs and high fives as she wandered through the crowd outside the courthouse.
"These are tears of joy. These are for Kathy. She didn't deserve this. She never deserved this. I hope he rots in hell," Marcia Savio said through tears.
Savio's family said they planned to visit her grave at a cemetery in Hillside to tell her the news in person.
"The feeling of joy right now is bittersweet. Like I said before I'll never have my sister again. I can go see her in the cemetery," Kathleen's brother, Nick stated at the podium. "At least I know she got justice from the hands of the cold-blooded killer up there."
Savio's sister said she studied Drew Peterson's face as the guilty verdict was read, hoping to see a flicker of regret.
"His face was stone. I constantly looked at him. He had no remark or anything," Kathleen Savio's sister said. "I waited there, till I got kicked out. I wanted to look at him, look at him good for the last time and say 'gotcha babe.'"
The guilty verdict also provided comfort to friends of Stacy Peterson, Drew's fourth wife, whose disappearance sparked the investigation into Savio's death...
"She came to the courtroom. She spoke. She is with Kathy. I truly believe there is something profound happening in that courtroom," remarked Stacy Peterson's family spokesperson, Pam Bosco.
The friends and family members had especially harsh words for Peterson's defense team, who they believe adopted the cocky arrogance of their client.
Kathleen's mother finished, saying, "All those other lawyers can go smoke cigars downstairs with the red man in the suit and start to hell."
