CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police have issued a missing person alert for a developmentally disabled Northwest Side man, last seen Thursday morning boarding a bus to attend a work study program and doctor's appointment.

Kevin Thorton, 47, was last seen in the 5100 block of West Roscoe about 8 a.m. Thursday being escorted onto a bus bound for the 2000 block of Clybourn, according to an alert from Area North detectives.

Thorton, who is developmentally disable and suffers from seizures, may have gotten off the bus either in the 5100 block of Roscoe or the 2000 block of Clybourn, when the driver was assisting other passengers on or off the bus, according to police.

He is described as a dark-complected African American, 5-foot-3 and 120 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He wore a yellow and brown checkered short-sleeve polo shirt, blue jeans and gym shoes. He carried a black and blue shoulder bag with a possible AT&T or Verizon logo, a blue lunch bag, green tote bag, and silver coffee can.

Police said Thorton might have a work schedule with him, but does not have any other identification.

Anyone with information should call detectives at (312) 744-8200.
