A motorcyclist died Friday evening after crashing into another vehicle in northwest suburban Schaumburg.
The person was riding a motorcycle near the intersection of South Meecham Road and Old Schaumburg Road about 4:53 p.m. when it collided with a car, according to Schaumburg police Sgt. John Nebl.
A fire broke out after the crash, Nebl said, though he could not confirm what caused it. Firefighters on the scene put out the flames.
The motorcyclist was dead at the scene, Nebl said.
South Meecham Road was expected to stay closed for several hours as police investigate, Nebl said.
