CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
It's the last official weekend of summer, so there is no shortage of things to do. From wine to wrestling to parading, you'll be sure to march your way into fall well imbibed. Time Out Chicago's Marissa Conrad has the scoop on where to go and what to do as you bid summer farewell.
Your schoolyard admirer might be in the Old Town neighborhood. But that's not the gist of the fete. Bid summer farewell at the yearly wine fest that blends art and live music. More than 100 artists gather to sell their wares. Crush in Old Town 1337 N Wells St (oldtownchicago.org). Noon–10pm; $7.
Newcomer City Winery is flexing its guns with a Labor Day Bubbly-Q featuring the food, wine and music the venue is known for. Celebrate your contribution to the working world with barbecued duck on challah and, of course, bubbles. 4–9pm. 1200 W Randolph St (citywinery.com). $10.
World Wrestling Entertainment's Monday night show makes a stop in our neck of the woods. Exact matchups are unknown until event day, but expect to see RAW superstars CM Punk, Brock Lesnar and Triple H. RAW Supershow Allstate Arena, 6920 N Mannheim Rd, Rosemont (800-745-3000, wwe.com). 6:30pm; $20-$95, parking $20.
The Wellington-Oakdale Old Glory Marching Society, which exists solely for this parade, another on Memorial Day and to have a ridiculously long name, hosts its 49th annual Labor Day parade.
Join some third-generation marchers for Chicago's oldest do-it-yourself procession, then end the day with treats and entertainment on the lawn of St. Joseph Hospital at 2900 N Lake Shore Dr. The pace is leisurely so kids and strollers are welcome. WOOGMS Labor Day Parade Pine Grove Ave and Wellington Ave (312-729-0440). 11am.
