New center-facing seats in CTA train cars are here to stay

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
Love it or hate it, the CTA said the center-facing seats on the new El trains are here to stay.
Chicago's transit authority responded to commuters who dislike the seating, and spoke up about wanting them changed.
The agency said changing the seating arrangement would mean re-designing the cars, which would mean more expense and delay the production of the rail cars.
The CTA also said the entire support structure of the cars is related to the seating design, which is meant to accommodate more people, bicycles and wheelchairs.
