LA restaurant gives discount for checking cell at the door

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A Los Angeles restaurant is offering its customers the chance to eat without their cell phones and get a discount for it!

Eva Restaurant is giving a 5% discount to customers who check their cell phones at the door when they are seated.

Owner Mark Gold says it allows customers the chance to enjoy their food and their company without any technological distractions.

Servers make the offer to diners when they introduce themselves and Gold says nearly half of his customers take advantage of the discount.
