CTA service increased for Air and Water Show this weekend

The CTA on Thursday announced it would beef up service for this weekend's Air & Water Show on the lakefront.
Trains running on the Blue, Brown, Red and Orange lines will include more cars before and after the annual show that takes place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the transit agency said in a statement.
The CTA will also deploy more buses on the No. 72 North Avenue and No. 151 Sheridan routes, the statement said, adding No. 72 buses will only travel as far as North Avenue and Clark Street in an effort to help reduce traffic congestion.
On Sunday, various bus routes traveling inner Lake Shore Drive will be detoured as large crowds gather for the last day of the show, the CTA said. Routes affected will be the Nos. 11, 22, 36, 73 and 151 buses.
Buses traveling north and south on Clark Street will be rerouted on LaSalle between Division and LaSalle, the CTA said. The No. 151 bus will run on LaSalle between North and Division, and the No. 11 and 73 buses will end at the intersection of Clark and Wilson.
The CTA said it urges commuters to leave early and allow for extra travel time.
