CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
A 6-year-old Calumet Park girl who disappeared with her mother has been found.
Ariyah Bohannon was abducted by her mother, Zetra Bohannon, who has a history of mental illness. The mother has been arrested.
The girl lives in a Calumet Park apartment complex in the 1400-block of 123rd with her great grandmother who has full custody.
"I love my sister dearly but she knows nothing about being a mom," said Zetra's sister. "This situation is very serious. I would never paint a picture and make my sister look like a monster cuz she's not, but mentally she's just not there. She don't know how to process her emotion. All she knows how to do is to lash out."
Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock, her family says the child's mother-–who is not allowed to have unsupervised visits—was only supposed to walk Ariyah to the park a block away. Family members say she never made it there.
Zetra Bohannon is bi-polar and schizophrenic and her condition can sometimes make her very violent towards her own child.
Family members and the police spent the day combing the area looking for the mother and daughter. They knocked on a couple of doors in Englewood where they thought Ariyah might have been.
