South Shore shooting leaves one man dead, another wounded

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

One man was fatally shot and another wounded after a shooting in the South Shore neighborhood early Wednesday morning.

Police said that two men were standing on the sidewalk near 75th and Kingston Avenue when an unknown gunman opened fire around 12:05 a.m.

The 39-year-old man was shot in the face. He was taken to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 12:40 a.m.

He was identified as L.C. Robinson III, of the 100 block of East 150th Street in Harvey, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

The 59-year-old victim was driven by a friend to South Shore Hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was listed in good condition.

He told police that the two heard the gunfire, but did not see where the shots were coming from.

No one was in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
