Rower finishes journey around Lake Michigan to raise money for breast cancer

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Jenn Gibbons started rowing around Lake Michigan to raise money for breast cancer research, and finished her journey as a survivor herself at Monroe Harbor Tuesday.

She founded the rowing club Recovery on Water for breast cancer survivors, and decided to devote herself completely to the cause.

Gibbons' trip was put in jeopardy last month when she was viciously attacked along the coast of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Police are still looking for her attacker.

But Gibbons decided to keep rowing for her cause after the attack and made it back home on Tuesday.
