ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WJBK) -

Some people spend a lifetime pursuing fame or fortune, but one man has sought to unravel the riddle of life itself.

For five decades, Dr. Gordy Kane, a subatomic particle physicist at the University of Michigan, has been on the hunt for the Higgs boson or "god particle".

The big boys in the world of astrophysics ridiculed him as a naval gazer, but then last month at the particle collider in Switzerland it was revealed that the Higgs boson, the glue of all things physical, does indeed exist.

Watch the video report as Fox 2's Charlie LeDuff interviews Dr. Kane and also asks this brilliant mind about some of the other mysteries of the universe, including what causes Twinkies to last forever, how is it possible that Keith Richards is still alive and how is it possible that Bob Ficano still has a job?
