Bears fans, rejoice! Get ready to sport your orange and blue because preseason kicks off tonight at 7:30 p.m. against the Denver Broncos at Soldier Field. Here's what to watch for:
Brian Urlacher: He's been excused from practice for personal reasons on two different back-to-back occasions and on Tuesday missed his sixth training camp workout in a row. So, will be play in tonight's opener against the Broncos? We'll have to watch to see. Some say Nick Roach could start in his place.
Jay Cutler: Jay and his fiancée Kristin Cavallari may have welcomed a baby boy into the world on Wednesday, but fatherhood likely won't keep him from football. He's expected to play, though it may not be for very long.
Peyton Manning: It's Manning's comeback after missing a season and he gets to play his first game against Denver. Word is his neck is stronger, but we know you'd like to see him get hit. He's supposed to play for a short time also, so let's see who knocks him down first.
Brandon Marshall: It's the reuniting of Cutler and Brandon Marshall and the introduction of the explosive Bears offense. He's the most talented receiver that Chicago has had in the last decade or so (and buddies with Cutler) so let's see how they play against their old team.
Shea McClellin: Everyone was shocked by selected first-round pick Shea McClellin and training camp hasn't proved to be his best performance. Will he prove he was worthy of being Chicago's first pick this year? He'll need to come in strong.
Tim Jennings vs. Kelvin Hayden: Both have been talked up this summer and it's time to see who will be the starting CB against Charles Tillman. Both will play tonight.
Ashton Jeffery: The Bears were impressed with his talent, enough to be the second-round draft pick. Like Shea McClellin, everyone is looking to see how he performs against a team of veterans.
Matt Forte: He signed his long term deal just before training camp, despite missing all of the mini-camps this summer. Forte ended last season on Injured Reserve, so tonight will be a test of what he has to work on and how he'll hold out after his rehab.
