Several "high-end" bicycles, worth thousands of dollars, were stolen from a Lincoln Park area store Tuesday night.
The burglary happened sometime between 9 and 9:15 p.m. from the Running Away Multisport store in the 2200 block of North Clybourn Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.
The offender or offenders entered the store by forcing open the rear doors, Sullivan said. They loaded several "high-end" bicycles into a box-type truck and fled.
A total of about 15 bikes were taken, with a value estimated between $20,000 and $30,000, according to unconfirmed dispatch reports. Police on Wednesday afternoon were unable to confirm the bikes' value.
