Mayor Rahm Emanuel's plan to make Chicago the nation's most bike-friendly city has hit a speed bump.
The bike sharing program was supposed to offer 3,000 bikes for rental this summer, but the Chicago Sun-Times reports it's been put off until next spring.
The delay comes as the city's inspector general continues to investigate a rival bidder's claim that the bid process was put on the fast track for Alta Bicycle.
Transportation Commissioner Gabe Klein once worked for Alta.
The transportation department insists the delay is just to ensure the program gets launched without any hiccups.
