National Night Out events unite against crime

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

People across the country took a stand against crime Tuesday night for the 29th annual National Night Out.

The Night Out event is designed to raise awareness on city violence, help prevent crime and strengthen partnerships between police and the community.

Early in the afternoon, Chicago police officers kicked off the event with a march on the South Side.

There were dozens of rallies in the Chicago area, and even more around the country.
