Major Wright #21 Safety
5'11" 204 lbs.
3rd Season/ Florida
Bio - Wright, who spent his career thus far with the Bears, has gathered 109 tackles (69 solo) and three interceptions (including one returned for a touchdown). He started 11 of 12 games played in 2011, amassing 78 tackles (52 solo), 3 interceptions, 4 PBUs, and a TFL. He returned an interception 24 yards for his first career touchdown against Detroit on 11/13/11. Despite missing five early games with a hamstring injury in 2010, Wright bounced back to play in 11 games and claim 31 tackles (17 solo) and 6 special teams tackles.
Lou's Call – This is a make or break season for Wright. First of all, he has to stay healthy and on the football field. Wright played well at the end of the 2011 season coming up with 3 interceptions but he'll need to do that for a full season this year.
Tom's Take – Staying healthy is job one for Major. He has been inconsistent and must make significant improvement quickly if he wants to stay in the starting lineup. Wright must be more discipline in both the running game and defending the pass.
Dionne's View – Missing 9 games in the last 2 seasons is reason for concern, which is why the Bears drafted another safety. Perhaps being in danger of losing more playing time because of a Coaches decision, will motivate Wright to stay right.
