CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -

A bullet flew into a Chesterfield Township family's home, and it's not the first time something suspicious has happened to them.

No one was injured when the bullet pierced several walls Sunday evening. But over the past seven months, their house has seen an increasing amount of vandalism.

Homeowner Tashia Mottley, however, is praying that it's all a coincidence. "People wanted to say different things because we live in a predominantly white community but I said 'I don't want to think like that,'" said Mottley.

Investigators are still on the case. They believe the bullet may have come from someone taking illegal target practice at a nearby landfill.
