Man accused of killing Allen Park couple stone faced in court

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (WJBK) -

Roger Bowling sat stone faced in open court Monday charged with the deaths of Chris Hall and Danielle Greenway.  Their torsos were found in a canal off the Detroit River in late July.

Monday, the first witnesses took the stand.

"My brother had been missing for four days.  Every thought goes through your mind and possibility," Elaina Mullins testified.

Hall's sister told the court she questioned Bowling about her brother's disappearance.  Bowling said the couple went upstate for vacation, but Hall's sister noticed Greenway's birth control on the kitchen table and said parts of the kitchen looked like they had been cleaned.

However, the bombshell came with a slip of a tongue.  Hall's sister indicated the couple may have been into drugs and had a grow room in their house.

"You knew there were marijuana plants growing in the basement?" Bowling's attorney asked her.

"Yes," she responded.

"Did you tell the police that they were in the basement?"

"I was not asked."

"That's not my question, though.  Did you tell the police that the marijuana plants were in the basement?"

"No, never seen marijuana plants."

Pictures taken at the scene showed bullet holes in the floor.  A forensic specialist said a minimum of four shots had been fired in the home.  The Wayne County Medical Examiner's officer confirmed Hall and Greenway were shot before their bodies were dismembered.

A neighbor, who also testified, told the court that she heard the sound of a saw around the time the couple disappeared, but couldn't confirm where that sound came from.
