Lollapalooza attracts 270k over 3-day event

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Crews moved in to Grant Park Monday to start cleaning up the mess left behind by Lollapalooza.

This year's festival is being called a success despite the heat and the rain. It wrapped up Sunday night with about 270,000 people attending over the weekend.

Sunday night headliners Jack White, Florence and the Machine, and Justice took the stage to close out the festival.

The big story of the weekend was the evacuation of the festival on Saturday. More than 60,000 fans were successfully evacuated after storms started to roll in. Gates reopened again at 6 p.m. and fans were able to come back to enjoy more shows.

Unlike last year, there is already a plan in place to pay for the damages caused by the festival.
