TIM JENNINGS #26 Cornerback

5'8", 195

7th / Georgia

Bio - Entering his third season with the Bears and seventh NFL season overall, Jennings has collected 310 tackles (223 solo), 5 forced fumbles, and 4 fumble recoveries. The former Super Bowl Champion (with Indianapolis in 2006) has played in seven postseason games (starting in three) and recorded 23 tackles, 5 PBUs, a forced fumble, and 2 special teams stops in the playoffs. During his time with the Bears, Jennings has played in all 32 games and started 28 times, with 153 tackles, 17 PBUs, 6 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 4 special teams stops under his belt. In the 2011 season, he earned a career-high 87 tackles (62 solo) and finished tied for second on the team with 8 PBUs.

Lou CanellisLou's Call – Shopped the market as a free agent this off season and didn't find a better buyer than the Bears. Jennings is lucky the Bears wanted him back because he needs to make more plays. Jennings had only 2 interceptions and one fumble recovery in 2011 and Lovie expects more from his defensive backs, plus he dropped a number of interception opportunities. He's only 5-8, 185 lbs but I'm hoping Jennings plays much bigger this season.

Tom WaddleTom's Take –Jennings is a solid CB. He is prone to inconsistent play, and cant be left alone with the leagues bigger receivers. He also has to be better with his hands and make the most of his opportunities. He dropped to many sure picks last year.

Dionne MillerDionne's View – Got starter money with a 2 year contract so the Bears feel he fits with what they want to do. His strong tackling ability is a big bonus.
