Coldwell Banker in Northbrook, IL is seeking a FT Communications Specialist. This position is responsible for all external and internal communications for the Chicago and Columbus/Cincinnati metros. This includes working with each metros local media and management/agent teams. The specialist will produce an accurate and timely flow of external and internal information to agents, managers, employees and staff using a variety of internal communication vehicles including press releases, feature stories, media relations, articles, and announcements. Specialist will also be responsible for internal communication vehicles including traditional formats, newsletters, e-newsletters, e-blasts, and other email formats as well as web sites, presentations, marketing materials, video content, event promotions, branding ads, and announcements, Foundation materials, presentations, branding ads, and email communication formats. Occasional overnight and local travel.
Research, write and distribute press releases in Chicago and Columbus/Cincinnati. Releases will include but are not limited to the following:
Weekly consumer benefit series
Special promotions (i.e. Company wide open house events, Mobile web sites, etc.)
Senior leadership announcements
Update media lists for LOCs on a regular basis. Develop editorial calendars based on each metros marketing plans as well as the major newspaper/magazine/trade editorial schedules. Field news media requests to interview leadership team members. Coordinate feature stories, byline articles, etc. Support crisis communications when needed. Prepare and update news releases templates for internal web sites. Initiate new PR ideas/opportunities.
Field news media requests to interview leadership team members or sales associates about new company or industry developments or housing market trends. Counsel interviewees on appropriate talking points/messages.
Monitor the company's news media coverage. Develop regular news clipping book for Columbus/Cincinnati as well as measuring and monitoring report.
Act as Chicago Metros liaison to local public relations firm. Edit press releases written by firm, manage incoming clips, help firm find and prepare appropriate sources for local stories. Seek approvals for press releases, statements, quotes, etc. as needed.
Initiate, coordinate, write, edit, update and/or produce internal communications vehicles for Chicago and Columbus/Cincinnati. Vehicles include brochures, marketing materials, employee/sales announcements, presentation pages, PowerPoint presentations, video content, company public web sites and intranets, events materials, internal memos and special projects for Chicago and Columbus/Cincinnati companies. Coordinate materials with graphic designers and eMarketing when needed.
Write and initiate eblasts as appropriate
Columbus/Cincinatti Buzz Newsletter: Develop, edit and manage the local company newsletter.
Chicagos Marketing Mix Newsletter: Develop, write, edit, and coordinate with graphic designer the LOC bi-monthly newsletter.
Chicagos regional weekly updates: review, edit and proof local regions weekly updates.
Manage articles in Chicagos Windy City publication: write, submit to relocation for approval, edit and send to vendor.
Awards: Support LOCs award needs
Provide NRT Foundation support for Chicago and Columbus/Cincinnati chapters Help implement committee directives, such as creating Foundation note cards, generating PR, and creating materials for ongoing initiatives. Communicate the Foundations initiatives to the field via email, flyers, presentations, etc.
Creating internal surveys using Zoomerang or other survey systems as requested. Other duties as assigned.
BA in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English or related field
Required: Four years of related experience in PR Communications within fast-paced business environment.
Preferred: Background in writing, editing, proofreading or research preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend complex communications.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small, and large groups to agents, management teams, and other employees.
