Remember this? 270,000 concert goers slopping through the mud, trampling the landscape in Grant Park. The large crowd and the torrential downpours on the last day of Lollapalooza last year, created a massive mess.
Concerned residents anxious about what this year will bring spoke out at a council meeting Tuesday night led by Bob O'Neil, president of the Grant Park Conservancy.
"There's a heightened awareness after last year," O'Neil said.
O'Neil assured residents this year, park officials are taking preventative measures for the three day music festival beginning Friday,
Last year's cleanup took two months and cost Lollapalooza's organizer $1 million just to install new sod. Organizers also put in taller fences where last year, people without tickets, snuck in from Lake Shore Drive.
And considering the drought his year, O'Neil expects the rain to stay away this weekend.
