Tourism on the rebound in Chicago

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Tourism is up in Chicago and that's good for the city's bottom line.

City Hall announced Tuesday that tourism generated $12 billion in spending in the city last year, up nearly 8 percent from 2010.

That boosted tax revenues by about 18 percent, and increased tourism-related jobs by more than 3 percent.

Last year saw 43.6 million visitors to the city, getting closer to Mayor Rahm Emanuel's goal of 50 million per year.
