Georgia voters will go to polls on Tuesday, and decide on a transportation sales tax referendum that will generate several billion dollars to fund projects in the metro Atlanta area if approved.
According to the Associated Press, a dozen regions will each hold their own votes on the referendum. If approved by a region's voters, money generated by the tax would be spent on projects in that region. Regions that do not pass the referendum get nothing.
Both supporters and opponents of the referendum have been vocal on their stance on the issue.
