CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A Northwest Side gang member was ordered held on $90,000 bond Monday for allegedly pointing a loaded handgun at soccer players near their children Sunday morning at Montrose Harbor.

Jaime Gutierrez, 20, of the 3600 block of West Leland Avenue, was charged with one count each of felony unlawful use of a firearm, felony possession of a firearm and felony possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said.

Gutierrez, who told officers he is a gang member, was also charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of a firearm without a FOID card, possession of ammunition without a FOID card and reckless conduct.

Cook County Judge Donald Panarese Jr. ordered Gutierrez held on $90,000 bond Monday, said Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin.

Police responded about 7 a.m. Sunday to a report of a man with a gun in the park near West Montrose Drive and North Lake Shore Drive, Kubiak said.

Officers were told a man pulled a gun during an argument about the game, police said.

The man displayed the weapon and pointed it at several people, repeating that he had a gun, police said. Several players had their families, with children, in the park.

He did not fire the weapon and no one was hurt, police said. Officers recovered the loaded gun from the scene.

Gutierrez will next appear in North Felony Court, 2452 W. Belmont Ave., on Aug. 6.
