Gas prices climbing once again

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Gas prices are back on the rise.

The Lundberg Survey finds that gas prices rose nine-and-a-half cents a gallon over the past two weeks.

That's the first price rise since April.

Nationally, the average price of gas is at $3.51 a gallon.

The nation's lowest price is in Jackson, Mississippi at $3.14 and, for once, Chicago does not have the highest price.

That can be found in Long Island, New York at $3.83.

You could see a temporary spike in gas prices here in the Chicago area because of a pipeline spill in Wisconsin.

A pipeline owned by Enbridge of Canada that supplies oil to Chicago area refineries has been shut down because of a leak near Grand Marsh, Wisconsin.

The spill has been cleaned up, but repairs could take several days.

That pipeline transports 318,000 barrels of oil a day.
