Palos Park man facing fraud charges for fake memorabilia

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Prosecutors say a Palos Park man committed fraud when he auctioned off a famous Honus Wagner baseball card and strands of Elvis Presley's hair.

His company, Mastro Auctions, folded several years ago, but 59-year-old William Mastro has been indicted on fraud.

Prosecutors say the Honus Wagner card was secretly altered, before it sold for over $1.5 million.

And Elvis's hair? Prosecutors say Mastro knew it probably wasn't the real thing.
