Youkilis pulled from White Sox game

Posted: Updated:

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago White Sox third baseman Kevin Youkilis left the game early Wednesday with what the team said was a sprained left ankle.

Youkilis, whose RBI single in the third put the White Sox up 3-1 against the Minnesota Twins, was removed for a pinch-hitter an inning later.

The 33-year-old Youkilis has revived his season since being acquired on June 24 from the Boston Red Sox. He's hitting .277 with five homers and 20 RBI in 25 games with Chicago.

He hit .233 with four homers and 14 RBI in 42 games with Boston this year.
