A Villa Park man has been charged for stealing an iPhone from a kid playing basketball.
Deshon Schulfield, of the 1S200 block on Danby in Villa Park, was arrested Tuesday night.
Police said he came up behind two kids playing basketball at 8:45 p.m., stole an iPhone out of one of their hands and fled the scene.
Police apprehended him a short while later, after searching the area. Schulfield, 21, was charged with one felony count of theft and one misdemeanor count of battery.
He's being held in DuPage County Jail, on $82,000 bond. He will appear in court Aug. 6
