July 22: Heat starts to build

The heat will start to build on Sunday with highs in the low and mid 90s.

By Monday we will be under the influence of a strong ridge of high pressure and highs could approach 100 in some places with a heat index over 100. The remainder of the week will be slightly cooler in the mid 80s to low 90s.

There are several chances for storms over the next 7 days with the best chances Tuesday through Friday.

SUNDAY: Hazy, hot and humid with isolated storms and highs near 94, lows near 73.

MONDAY: Hazy, hot and humid with chance of isolated storms. Highs between 97 and 100 and lows near 77.

TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy sunny with periods of storms. Highs near 87 and lows near 71.

WEDNESDAY: Partly sunny with scattered storms. Highs near 88 and lows near 70.

THURSDAY: Partly sunny with scattered storms. Highs near 90 and lows near 72.

FRIDAY: Partly sunny with highs near 91 and lows near 73.
