The Kane County Sheriff's Office is investigating the discovery of a body along a road in a rural area near Kaneland High School on Wednesday morning.
About 7:30 a.m., police were called to investigate a car parked on the side of Meredith Road, north of Keslinger Road and the high school campus. Police have not released the identity or gender of the dead person, who was found near the car, but confirmed it was not a student.
Firefighters and a forensics team were on the scene Wednesday morning, the Beacon-News is reporting.
Further details, including the cause of death, have not yet been released.
The school remains open, as police believe there is no threat to anyone at the school. There are football practices being held at the school, which will continue, the sheriff's office said.
