July 18: Hot with isolated storms Wednesday

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A slow moving front will sag toward Chicago Wednesday and generate isolated storms in the morning, Wednesday night and Thursday.

The front stalls along the I-80 corridor Wednesday night and Thursday which means a big temperature difference across the area with mid 80s near the Wisconsin line and upper 90s south of I-80.

There is also a heat advisory Wednesday south of that front for LaSalle, Grundy and Kankakee counties.

Friday sunshine returns with the mid 80s. Enjoy the brief relief, because it's back to the 90s and another extended heat wave starting this weekend and through the following week.

For a complete guide on how to BEAT THE HEAT, check out our SURVIVAL GUIDE.

WEDNESDAY: Partly sunny with a chance showers or storms. Highs near 90 in Chicago and west, 85 along Wisconsin line, 96 along I-80 and south. Overnight lows near 72.

THURSDAY: Partly sunny with a chance of isolated showers and storms. Highs near 85, but cooler by the lake and lows near 68.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny with highs near 86 and lows near 69.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs near 90 and lows near 71.
