Art Institute adds unique alarm to lion statues

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The Chicago Art Institute is roaring against people climbing on the famous lions out front.

The new, after hours alarm is triggered whenever anyone tries to climb one of the statues.

The Art Institute tried it out ruing the NATO Summit, and it worked.

The lions were donated to the Art Institute in 1893. They are major tourist attractions.

But officials say they are themselves works of art, and shouldn't be climbed on.
