Felony Franks tries to set up shop in Evanston

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The owner of a controversial hot dog stand that closed on the West Side is trying to set up shop in Evanston.

Felony Franks served dishes like "probation burgers" and "misdemeanor wieners." It employed ex-convicts, until it shut down last month.

The owner was at a community meeting in Evanston Thursday night, trying to gain resident support.

Evanston city officials said they'd welcome Felony Franks. But some critics said the name is insensitive.
