CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
Time Out Chicago's Marissa Conrad joined Good Day to outline our perfect weekend, featuring Pitchfork music festival, Bastille Day, Chicago's Match Cup and the Taste.
We got through the heat wave and this weekend Chicago has plenty of activities to help you enjoy this wonderful weather. If you didn't get enough music at Pitchfork's Music Festival this weekend be sure to catch Cobrafest running from Friday through Sunday at 9pm. This free music festival is a great way to wrap up your music filled weekend and rock out. Bands include Detroit's Human Eye, Atlanta's Coathangers, King Tuff, and many more! If you're looking for some outdoors time Saturday look no further then Chicago's 2012 Bastille Day. You won't want to miss the Parisian-inspired resto, live French music, and tons of fun activities. Grab your beret and head on down to the Daley Plaza this Saturday! (www.bastilledaychicago.org)
You can also check out the Chicago Match Cup at Navy Pier this Saturday and Sunday. Chosen as the only U.S. spot on the Alpari World Match Race Tour, Navy Pier will host 12 of the world's top-ranked skippers and their teams who will race for a share of $100,000. Go and watch them from the east end of the Pier and between races you can visit the ‘race village,' complete with a beer garden, live music and much more!
If you haven't gotten a chance to check out the Taste of Chicago yet Sunday is the perfect day. Not only will you get to enjoy the typically wonderful food of this great event but as an added bonus they will be having their Celebrity Chef Du Jour. Big-name chefs will serve a meal atop Buckingham Fountain's tables. Sunday's haute cuisine event will be the last in the series where you can feast on lunch from Purple Pig's Jimmy Bannos!
