CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Indicted state representative Derrick Smith wants to call two surprising witnesses to testify at his disciplinary hearing.

He's asking for the confidential informant who allegedly taped him and the FBI agent who arrested him.

Smith is accused of taking a $7,000 bribe from the informant in exchange for introducing a bill to help a childcare provider.

The Sun-Times reports Smith also wants to introduce the informant's rap sheet into the hearing.

The hearing is scheduled for July 19, however Smith has asked for a postponement.
